We bailed out of the new place shortly after midnight. The new mattress is still expanding after being compressed into the box for transit. It’s amazing how small they can squish that memory foam down for transit and how big it becomes within minutes of unpacking. The 3 inch top layer of the super comfy stuff was packed down hard as a rock but about 20 minutes later was already springing back up and quite comfy.
We didn’t have the hardware for the bed, clothes for tomorrow and Ryan has to go to something here in the city in 6 hours so we came back to crash for the night. I’ve also managed to screw up my neck and shoulder so I’ve spent the bulk of the day in quite a bit of pain. Still, things are coming along.
Tomorrow it’s all about packing up clothes, boots, etc. and carting off as much as we can manage over to the place to continue the cleaning spree. Looks like Thursday we’ll get a UHaul and hit the storage unit to pick up the bulk of the stuff that was already staged there in Jersey prior to finding the new place. After that big push it should just be some odds and ends back here in Manhattan and in storage. We just need to get everything out of the place in Manhattan before New Year’s Eve so we can enjoy that weekend.
So far though, it’s not that bad. Coming from such a small space and having plenty of room to spread out is appearing to make a lot of things easier so far…
